On Tuesday, November 26, I co-hosted on the Lou Desmond & Co. | 1490-KMET San Bernardino, 5pm Pacific/7pm Central. Every Tuesday in Criminal Justice Tuesday on the show. Our guest this week was Humboldt County, CA Sheriff William Honsal, who was first elected in 2017. Dr. Myers and Sheriff Honsal discussed the impact of the Trump election on local law enforcement, passing Prop 36 and ending the horrible consequences of Prop 47, and had a great discussion on how to work with the Federal Government on immigration issues despite California State Law that forbids law enforcement from working those immigration officers.
Humboldt County is a beautiful location in northern California with densely forested high mountains, vast lakes, rugged rivers and about 110 miles of coastline situated along the Pacific. It is the home of the largest Redwood Forest on the Earth. Humboldt County also has one of the deepest natural bays in the America and is home to more than half the oyster population on the Pacific Coast.
