Tonight, we are honored to welcome a distinguished figure in California's criminal justice system: Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig. With nearly three decades of prosecutorial experience and serving as the county's chief elected law enforcement official since 2007, DA Reisig stands as one of California's longest-serving district attorneys.
A UC Davis alumnus with a law degree from the University of the Pacific, DA Reisig has been at the forefront of criminal justice reform and public safety initiatives. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the development of Proposition 36, aiming to address the complexities of drug and theft-related offenses in the state and that was passed in November of 2024 by more than 70%! Wow, I wish he had the song Wipeout to play for you, Jeff!
Beyond his prosecutorial duties, DA Reisig has been a vocal advocate for transparency and accountability in the justice system, emphasizing the importance of balancing public safety with equal treatment under the law. The people of Yolo County love this guy and so do many Californians, and I can see why, the main is a leader and he is unafraid! Jeff, my friend – welcome to the show!
