On Tuesday, January 14 on the Lou Desmond & Company Show, I was the guest host for the drive time slot for the California Inland Empire station of KMET, San Bernardino. My guest was Peter J. Forcelli. Pete is a retired Deputy Assistant Director from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Prior to joining ATF, he served for 15 years with the N.Y.P.D., before retiring from the Bronx Homicide Task Force. Forcelli appeared in Congress in June 2011 to blast his supervisors and the U.S. attorney in Arizona for failing to oversee a law enforcement operation that lost track of as many as 2,000 guns along the Southwest border, better known as Operation Fast and Furious. One of the guns that the ATF let walk ended up in the cartels hands and was used in the killing of USCBP Agent, Brian Terry.
In this show we discussed the LA Fires (cause and effect), ATF Under Trump, and Book "The Deadly Path”, which brought to light the entire story on Operation Fast and Furious under the Obama Administration.
Pete’s book is well worth the read. He also would be a great person for the Trump Administration to tap to lead the ATF so this agency can get back to the ATF of the 1980s that focused on bad guys with guns instead of making the gun the problem and the over-regulation of the gun industry like we saw with the Biden and Obama Administrations.
