Dr Currie Myers Interview with Megan Stockburger of the National Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame

A discussion on the mission of the NLEO HoF, how it started and why!

(You can watch the show here if you prefer over audio)

This Tuesday on the Lou Desmond and Company Show, I was the guest host sitting in for Lou on our weekly “Criminal Justice Tuesday” discussion. My friends, we are coming to you at a time when the men and women who wear the badge face challenges from every direction, not just from criminals on the streets, but from bureaucratic leadership, activist prosecutors, a toxic media narrative, and frankly, from the crushing weight of the job itself.

Tonight, we’re not just talking about the headlines, we’re digging deeper into the heart of policing in America: honor, sacrifice, and the human cost of keeping our communities safe. Officer wellness, mental health, and the noble call to service are more critical conversations now than ever before.

Joining me tonight is Megan Stockburger of the National Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame — an organization committed to honoring those who have stood the line between order and chaos, many of whom have paid the ultimate price. We’re going to discuss the importance of remembering and recognizing these heroes, but also talk about what we’re doing, and not doing, to support the men and women who are still out there every single day.

Megan and I discussed the mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame, how it got started and why, and powerful stories of an inductee that exemplifies courage. We also discussed the struggle with officer wellness, PTSD, and suicide rates that exceed those of the general public and what it was like to be the daughter of a career law enforcement officer.
