Kevin Cronister is a 15-year law enforcement veteran. He currently serves as a Detective with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in the Kansas City Metro Area, the Metro Major Case Squad, and the Officer Involved Critical Incident Investigation Team (OICIIT) investigating officer-involved shootings. He’s a former Squad Leader, as well as a Ballistic Shield Operator and Firearms Instructor for SWAT. Kevin earned his master’s degree in forensic psychology and holds numerous instructor certifications.
He is currently in the process of completing a board certification as an Expert in Cyber Crime Investigations (CECI) through the McAfee Institute. Kevin holds a certification in Advanced Digital Forensic Analysis of for the iOS & Android operating system and is both a Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO) and Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA), allowing him to complete forensic examinations of devices for evidence. Additionally, he is a Certified Online Undercover Investigator through the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).
Kevin sits on the Use of Force Review Board at his agency where he serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on law enforcement use of force. Kevin is the co-host of the Screen Guardians Podcast, providing collaboration with teachers, parents, and the community to protect children from predators online, and the founder and CEO of Guardian Training Solutions, a provider of both on-site tactical training and online training for law enforcement, security professionals and students looking to start a career in law enforcement. He is also a public speaker, providing information on healthy internet habits and how to ensure safety for children to parents, schools, churches, and other groups.
He obtained his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from UFC veteran Trey Ogden at Marathon MMA in Overland Park, Kansas where he trains both MMA and Jiu Jitsu.
