My new book, “The Advent of Feral Man” is now available on Substack drcurriemyers.substack.com for all paid subscribers. In this book, I present compelling evidence that within the last decade, America is going into a quick decent into the “wilding” of human beings. A phenomenon that is perpetuated by the lack of faith, family, and formation in our human development. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Don’t forget my podcast also available on Spotify on America’s Criminologist with Dr. Currie Myers. And please join me on X. This is a very important platform for distributing my work. @DrCurrieMyers
This week on the Lou Desmond & Company Show, I was the guest host for Lou and my guest was retired FBI Special Agent Thomas Baker. If you prefer to see the show with video, we have a new feature for you all. Feel free to watch this segment of the Lou Desmond & Company Show here! The FBI veteran explains how the Mueller–Comey cabal turned the FBI from a “swear to tell the truth”, law-enforcement agency to a politicized intelligence organization. Americans have lost faith in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, an institution they once regarded as the world’s greatest law-enforcement agency. Thomas Baker spent many years with the FBI and is deeply troubled by this loss of faith. Specific lapses have come to light, and each is thoroughly discussed in this book: Why did they happen? What changed? The answer begins days after the 9/11 attacks when the FBI underwent a significant change in culture. To understand how far the Bureau has fallen, his book - “The Fall of the FBI” - shows the crucial role played by the FBI and its agents in past decades. It was quite often, as the reader will see from these firsthand experiences, a fun-filled adventure with exciting skyjackings, kidnappings, and bank robberies. At the same time, the reader will see the reverence the Bureau had for the Constitution and the concern agents held for the rights of each American. We discussed the future of the FBI, what the FBI used to do that they need to do again, the Great War on Terror (GWOT) that is now focused on drug cartels and Thomas’ recent testimony before Congress on the “Weaponization” of the FBI.
Here are my pressing issues that I have offered an opinion on as an applied criminologist, ethicist and career law enforcement officer at the local, state, and federal level:
Kash Patel: The Right Choice to Restore Trust in the FBI
The Senate’s confirmation of Kash Patel as FBI Director is a critical step toward restoring transparency and public trust in an institution that has suffered repeated ethical failures and violations of constitutional rights. Patel has pledged to return the FBI to its core mission—upholding the law without political interference—something the agency has struggled with in recent years. The FBI’s reputation has been tarnished by incidents such as the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, which relied on the discredited Steele dossier to surveil a presidential campaign, and the improper use of FISA warrants against American citizens. The agency’s handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop and its classification of concerned parents as potential domestic terrorists further eroded public confidence. Such actions have fueled bipartisan concerns that the FBI has been weaponized for political purposes rather than serving as an impartial law enforcement agency. Patel’s commitment to transparency and accountability resonates strongly with both rank-and-file FBI agents and retired professionals who understand the need for reform. Many within the bureau have long expressed frustration over politicized leadership decisions that undermine the integrity of their work. His leadership offers a chance to refocus the FBI on enforcing the law without bias, reinforcing ethical standards, and ensuring that constitutional rights are protected. The Senate must recognize that confirming Patel is not about partisan politics—it’s about restoring the FBI’s credibility. America needs an FBI Director who prioritizes justice over political agendas, and Patel is the right leader for the job.
Blockchain at the Local Law Enforcement Level
Local law enforcement agencies, such as municipal police departments, handle significant amounts of sensitive data, including criminal records, evidence logs, and incident reports. Blockchain can be used in several ways to improve operations. Click the link above to read the full opinion piece.
Mexico as a Narco-State: A Comprehensive Perspective and a Path Forward
Mexico’s evolution into what many consider a narco-state has been a decades-long process, driven by systemic corruption, the unprecedented rise of drug cartels, the work in concert with China to provide the poisonous Fentanyl into our country, and ineffective governance. This perspective aims to elucidate the who, what, where, when, and why behind this transformation, as well as outline strategies for the United States to combat this escalating crisis. Central to these strategies is the proposed designation of Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations under a renewed Trump administration policy, a move with profound implications for bilateral relations and U.S. national security. Okay here is my five-minute blitz on CJ News and Information for this week:
A left-wing group that serves as the lead contractor for a massive federal immigration contract claims the immigration system is "intentionally designed" to exploit "Black and brown people," opposes the use of police officers for "immigration purposes," and says "no immigrant should be detained." Acacia Center for Justice, based in Washington, D.C., is one of the largest federal immigration contractors, overseeing a $769 million program that provides lawyers for unaccompanied alien children and adults in immigration court hearings and deportation proceedings.
On Thursday, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the U.S. government ban on selling handguns to adults over 18 but under 21 is unconstitutional. The ruling was based in part on the Supreme Court case, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, which was at that time predicted to cause a major shakeup in gun laws nationwide. This is a serious win for the Second Amendment community, but it may have even wider application. At present, right here in the United States, we have an odd system wherein young Americans come by their age of majority in increments. At 18, one can join the military, sign a contract, get married, open a bank account, borrow money, and vote. But they can't buy a beer or a shot of whiskey, in many states they can't buy tobacco, and they can't buy a handgun. This graduated age of majority is well to the left of stupid; as a matter of public policy, an age of majority should be just that, an age, not ages; and when one reaches that age, be it 18, 21, or 19 years, six months and 18 days, then one should have all of the rights and privileges of adulthood.
A sheriff's office in New York is facing heat from federal agents after an illegal migrant was released from the facility despite having a federal deportation order. Jesus Romero-Hernandez, 27, on Tuesday pled guilty to third-degree assault charges in Tompkins County. He was released by the local sheriff's office even though he had a federal arrest warrant, according to the Justice Department. Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove said that Romero-Hernandez was caught by federal agents Thursday and slammed the county sheriff's office for not keeping him in custody. “The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office in Ithaca, NY, a self-described sanctuary city, appears to have failed to honor a valid federal arrest warrant for a criminal alien with an assault conviction,” Bove said. County Sheriff Derek Osborne could potentially face prosecution for allowing the release of Romero-Hernandez, according to The New York Times. "We will use every tool at our disposal to prevent sanctuary city policies from impeding and obstructing lawful federal operations designed to make America safe again and end the national crisis arising from four years of failed immigration policy," Bove said.
Maybe by this time in 2026, writers like me won’t have to write things that don’t make sense. Things like this: Did you know that despite transgender individuals making up only 0.3% of the population, 15 percent of women in U.S. federal prisons are men? This statistic is alarming and raises serious questions about the system and potential exploitation. It's crucial to examine the root causes behind this trend, ensuring we're not enabling abuse of the system.
Justin Tucker might have attempted his last field goal with the Ravens. But considering the league's history of pathetic responses to misconduct towards women, it likely won't have anything to do with Thursday's troubling allegations. The Baltimore Banner published a detailed account of Tucker's alleged inappropriate behavior at Baltimore-area massage parlors, which the Banner noted led to him being banned from two establishments. Per The Banner, "Tucker's attorneys denied that he was banned.
